Ft. Lauderdale Chiropractic Care

A Natural Approach to Healing

If you have suffered a recent injury that has left you with constant pain and stiffness, or your body just isn't responding as it should to the demands you place on it, the core of your problem may well lie in the core of your central nervous system the spine. These collections of 24 articulated vertebrae, and the spinal cord they protect, play several crucial roles in supporting your body, allowing for correct balance and movement, and relaying nerve impulses to countless physical systems and components. If your spinal alignment is interfering with your ability to live life to the fullest, you may need chiropractic care from Tartack Chiropractic & Wellness Center.

Chiropractor-Doing-Adjustment Even the slightest imperfection in your balance and spinal posture can throw your musculoskeletal system completely off. This can contribute to issues such as chronic foot pain, premature wear in weight-bearing joints, frequent bouts of back pain, recurring muscular strains, and the inflamed tendons associated with so many repetitive motion injuries from tennis elbow or golf elbow to runner's knee. Our Fort Lauderdale chiropractor can examine your spinal posture for telltale subluxations that may impede your performance. Gentle, precise adjustments can then get your spine back in line safely and effectively. If you've suffered a soft tissue injury alongside your alignment problems, we can also prescribe cold laser therapy and specific rehabilitation techniques to get you back on your game.

Sometimes an old, long-untreated injury or degenerative condition can grow into a deep-rooted source of misery. In many cases, lumps of scar tissue called adhesions form over the injury site, restricting muscle motion and causing chronic neck pain, back pain, stiffness and loss of mobility. For these situations, we may administer a type of chiropractic adjustment called manipulation under anesthesia, or MUA. This enables us to correct the cause of years of suffering quickly and painlessly.

Chiropractic care can also make a critical difference in your nerve function. Herniated discs and other common sports injuries can put pressure on the nerve ruts that extend from the spinal cord. Depending on which nerve roots are affected, you may experience tingling, loss of sensation, pain or progressive muscle weakness and atrophy in one or more limbs. In fact, nerve dysfunction can impair every part of your physical function, from immune response to sleep quality. The cumulative effects of this dysfunction can make you more prone to infections, fatigue, and generally sub-par performance. By relieving the nerve root pressure behind these problems, we relieve the problems.

Manipulation Under Anesthesia

One of our specialties, manipulation under anesthesia involves placing a patient under sedation to move soft tissue and joints. These techniques work best for patients who would be otherwise uncomfortable during an adjustment, such as with a spinal condition or painful injury. While under anesthesia, Dr. Tartack can perform both high and low-impulse manipulation techniques, eliminating restrictions in the joint and surrounding tissues. This type of treatment leads to breaking up scar tissue, stretching tendons, ligaments, and muscles, reducing pain from disc damage, and decreasing muscle spasms.
