6 Exercises for Leg & Knee Pain Relief in Fort Lauderdale

At Tartack Chiropractic and Wellness Center we want to give you some exercises you can do at home that will help with leg and knee pain. Try these six exercises in between chiropractic appointments to help with knee pain treatment and leg pain relief.

Stretching Calves

To help release muscle tension in your calves, try a simple stretch for leg pain treatment. Stand upright and get your balance with your hands. Stand up on your toes, hold the pose for a few seconds, and then relax. Repeat in sets of 10 whenever your lower leg muscles need some exercise.

Squats on a Wall

Squats are great for building leg muscle. By doing them while pressed against a wall, it takes some pressure off the knees. Stand with a wall to your back, 6 inches away from the wall, with your knees slightly apart. Slide down until your knees bend. Hold and release. Repeat in sets of 10 throughout the day.

One Leg Standing

Stand on one leg for as long as possible. Then switch legs. Do leg stands for up to 5 minutes a day to strengthen your legs.

Stair Steps for Knees

Take turns stepping up, one leg at a time, on a set of stairs. Lift each leg up to the full step position, then lower back to the ground. Repeat in sets of 12.

Knee Twists

Lie on your back, and pull your knees together so that your legs bend at the knee and your feet are flat on the ground. Keep the upper half of your body in a steady position, while you roll your bent legs over to one side. Hold for 5 seconds and return to the other side of your body. This is also a great exercise for your lower back.

Side Laying Leg Lifts

Lay on either side and extend your legs. Hold your upper body in place as you lift your legs up parallel to your body. Lift your legs as high as you can and hold for 5 seconds. Repeat 10 on each side as you recover from your knee injuries.
